Corsham CC Receive Conditional Planning Approval for Clubhouse Redevelopment

Planning authority Notification of Full Planning received

The Corsham Cricket Club General Committee are really pleased to share with you the exciting news that the planning application for the Clubhouse Redevelopment Project has been granted by Wiltshire Planning Office.

There are some conditions applied to the approval that the committee is currently working through with regards to Operational Management Plans and Noise Control, but the committee is confident that this permission will allow the Club to deliver to its members the exciting modern project everybody has been so invigorated by since it first started to come to life 18 months ago.

Director of Cricket and Clubhouse Redevelopment team member Peter Dennett said that “Whilst this is only one step in a long road, it feels like a hugely significant one for the Club, and really does bring those exciting images and videos we have all been watching over the winter a little closer to life. We know there is lots of hard work ahead but this, along with an exciting summer of cricket just round the corner, really does give the redevelopment team an additional spring in their step”.

Massive thanks have to go to Dan Collier and the team at Lynea Architects for their hard work getting the project this far and the committee look forward to working with Dan further to develop the detailed technical drawings as the Club aim to deliver the project in time for its 175th anniversary in the summer of 2022.

Obviously for this project to be successful the Club will need to work hard to secure as much funding as possible over the coming months. There are already a number of fundraising activities in the planning phase for later on this summer with a team from the Club undertaking the 'Three Peaks Challenge' in July 2021 and a number of the playing squad running a half marathon. Ten-year-old Academy member Henry Dummott will be undertaking a sponsored 'Bowlathon' over the Easter Holidays. For more information on this 'Bowlathon' or to sponsor Henry please CLICK HERE

Huge thanks go to Henry for his contribution. If anyone else wants to support the club with sponsorship or would like to propose additional events to raise money for the redevelopment project, then please get in touch. Every penny raised will help make this vision a reality.

The Club is working hard to expand its existing sponsorship base and have many opportunities available from Match Day and Match Ball Sponsorships, through to full Academy or Women’s section Sponsorship, so if you believe you or your company could benefit from working with this Club at this time, please do not hesitate to contact either Commercial Manager David Klewin on dk@futurelearninguk.com or Director of Cricket Peter Dennett on peter.dennett554@hotmail.co.uk

With just over a year to go until the 2022 season and our 175th anniversary, now is the time to pull together as a community club to help achieve this redevelopment which will future proof the club, its members and the wider community for years to come.

As the project progresses the Club will of course keep you updated with any significant developments as and when they happen.
