Playing for Wiltshire CCC in their opening NCCA Trophy 50 over competition of the 2022 season yesterday (29th May), Corsham players, JOE KING and MIKE REYNOLDS made significant contributions in Wiltshire's win.
KING took 5 for 42 in 8.4 overs to terminate Dorset's innings total at 194. His five wicket haul was his best bowling return of his career in Wiltshire's Trophy matches, topping his previous best of 4 for 42 achieved against Cornwall last year.
Hampshire's FELIX ORGAN top scored in Dorset's total with 49 before becoming the first of two wickets taken by MIKE REYNOLDS. REYNOLDS also dismissed Dorset's captain, LUKE WEBB during his 10 over spell which finished with figures of 2 for 46.
Batting at 7, REYNOLDS came in with the score at 160 for 6 with Wiltshire requiring a further 35 runs to win the match. In typical style, REYNOLDS hit four 4s and one 6 in 21 balls to take Wiltshire to victory with 11.2 overs remaining.
South Wilts' wicketkeeper/batsman BEN DRAPER top scored for Wiltshire with 50 in 53 balls after sustaining an injured hand while fielding, and was ably supported by Potterne's JAKE GOODWIN (45 in 40 balls) and debutant OLLIE MEADOWS (43 in 66 balls) from Chippenham.
